"Liu Sola & Friends Ensemble" has experienced tremendous growth during these last 10 years.
The members of the band have gained a unique improvisational playing style and technique as you may
discover listening to the music samples accessible on our
Discography page and on our
Musicians' page.
In order to provide enhanced conditions for improvisation, the band members are now participating
in film music workshops with independent film makers. The workshops were inspired by a sound composition
meant to accompany a silent film and also by the search to integrate the concept of modern sound
with visual concepts and thus breaking the old fixed soundtrack concept.
This workshop relies on the excellent recording environment of "Liu Sola ( Beijing ) music studio"
where the band members have access to a very convenient multimedia improvisation platform. The music
concept practiced in the workshop allows the performers to explore newer music ideas. The musicians
are directly involved in the composition and become composers themselves under the guidance of world
renowned composer Liu Sola thus breaking the composer 's academic standards and liberating their
playing skills to serve a vastly expanded scope of possibilities to surf the visual.
This workshop offers independent film-makers to build a direct relationship with the musicians while
using an exquisite music live performance infrastructure with world level performers and all this at
very reasonable prices.
Currently the workshop is confined to the music performance by our band members.
