Yangsheng graduated from China's famous "Central Conservatory of Music" and majored in percussion and composing theory. Now Yangsheng is the Principal percussion player of the "Song and Dance Troupe of the General Political Department". Member of the Council of Chinese Orchestra, Deputy Secretary-general of the Percussion Institute. Member of the Evaluating Committee for the National Folk Instrument Grading Test and guest professor of Renmin University in Beijing.Yangsheng was invited many times to compose, direct, and play with national orchestra or foreign bands. He was five times the recipient of the red star artist award, winner of the Sixth Wenhua award by the state council and the ministry of Culture, golden award in international gong and drum holiday.
The percussion play "Today I am master in my home" was awarded the top prize in CCTV spring festival evening party in 2001. Succeeded in holding special concert in Beijing Australia and New Zealand in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Recorded special percussion concert "China drum" for CCTV. Yangsheng's name is compiled in the book "Modern Chinese Artists Celebrities".
Yangsheng tries to use a new style in orchestral plays. He composed "Triumphant Return", World music "Dance Drum", Dance music "going to the western paradise", Song "brother", "warriors and horses soul". Yangsheng also wrote a book named "China folk percussion education" In February, 2001, he performed as director and conductor in Munich with the "Strauss Music Conservatory", in Austria with "Amadis Chorus" and in other places in Europe . In August, 2001,he participated in the music festival of Hong Kong . In 2002, he participated in the performance of the "Silk road" in various countries in Europe.
