Chen Suchao was born in 1988 in Nanchang, Jiangxi and began to study Pipa
from Six years old with pipa virtuoso, educators, Zhu Yin and Yu Danni in Jiangxi province.
Awards:
1996 she won the Second Prize of “The Fifth Hua Dong traditional Chinese Instruments competition
for teenage players”;
1997 she was the winner of the first “Jiangxi competition of Pipa performance”;
1998 she won the first place of Nanchang ”Ou Ya Cup” Pipa competition;
2001 she was admitted in the attached middle school of China conservatory of music with perfect grade,
under study of teacher Zhou Hui and Pipa virtuoso Professor Yang Jing;
2002 she won the CNNT prize in Pipa performance;
2004 she won the ”Long Yin Cup” in China conservatory of music;
2007 she was awarded as outstanding graduates of the attached middle school of China conservatory of music;
She was the principal pipa of Chinese Youth Plucked-string Orchestra;
2011 she was recommended to the MA program without entrance examination;
2012, she participated in “Liu Sola & Friends” Ensemble’s concert in “Lifeweek-UCCA Festival”
as the bass pipa player.
